Terms of Service

Etoile is a hosted search infrastructure designed for developers. It allows you to index, embed, and search content through APIs, SDKs, and UI components that integrate into your own applications.

Etoile does not host or display original content. Instead, it operates on derived representations such as embeddings, summaries, and metadata generated from content you provide.

You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Any activity that happens under your account is your responsibility, including usage by team members or collaborators you authorize.

You must provide a valid email address to create an account and receive important service-related communications. Accounts must be created by real people or legitimate organizations. Automated or abusive signups are not permitted.

Please use Etoile legally and responsibly. You agree not to misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, or use it in a way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.

Etoile processes and stores only limited, derived data necessary to provide the Service. This may include vector embeddings, summaries, and metadata such as titles, identifiers, and collections.

Etoile does not store original raw content unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Because embeddings and summaries are derived representations, they may not be reversible or human-readable.

You retain full ownership of any content and metadata you submit to Etoile.

By using the Service, you confirm that you have all necessary rights and permissions to process and index that content. You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, and compliance of your content.

Etoile does not review, endorse, or control user content and is not responsible for any content indexed or searched through the Service.

We reserve the right to investigate unusual or abusive usage and to suspend or terminate access if content or usage violates these Terms or applicable laws.

Etoile offers a free tier with limited indexing usage, as well as paid subscriptions that include a fixed recurring fee and usage-based charges for excess indexing.

On the free plan, indexing may be disabled once usage limits are reached. On paid plans, excess usage is billed according to the applicable pricing.

Payments are processed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. If a payment fails, Stripe may retry the charge before access is suspended.

All fees are non-refundable, except where required by law. Because indexing incurs fixed infrastructure costs, we do not offer refunds for unused time or usage.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We may suspend or terminate access to Etoile at any time for violations of these Terms, non-payment, legal or compliance reasons, or abusive usage.

After termination, stored embeddings and metadata may be deleted after a reasonable period. We are not obligated to provide data exports after termination.

Etoile is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, availability, or performance.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice.

Etoile is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or non-infringement.

Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pooki, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business-related damages, including loss of profits, data, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100), whichever is lower.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pooki, Inc. from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
